God is powerful and capable of performing miracles even today. He uses people to do his work and carry his authority. John 14:12-13 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it”. It takes believing that God heals. Partnering that belief with action and acknowledging that it is all for the sake of bringing glory to God’s name. If you do not believe God still does miracles today, that is okay. A huge part of my testimony is that I did not believe he did until I was 22. I thought healings, deliverances, and miracles were for the sake of building up the early church and not for today. But then I started praying for healings and seeing God do it. I started praying for deliverances and seeing people walk in freedom. I prayed and asked God for visions and miracles and he gave them to me. I just want to encourage you that if you do not currently have the faith that believes Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast our demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” then start praying and asking God for more faith. Start praying healing over people and see what happens. God might just wow you. He sure did wow me.
Over the past week, I have been at training camp in Gainesville, Georgia. Upon arrival, I had no doubt that God was going to meet us in a new way at training camp. “The price for God’s presence is time” and we entered uninterrupted time with God. On the second night of training camp, our squad (the 15 people that I will be doing ministry with in each country) had the opportunity to hold an all-night prayer watch. Our squad sat outside praying together when it began to get dark and stayed in prayer until the light of the next morning came. At the very beginning of our prayer watch a squamate came in having just fallen on the bridge leading in and out of our campsite. (Yes, it is literally training CAMP, tents and all). She was experiencing a lot of pain. I led my squad in praying for healing over her ankle. We prayed, believing that God is a healer and asked him to heal her ankle with full faith. After praying, we asked how she felt and she said the pain from the twist had completely gone away. She then stated she was still feeling a little residual tightness. So I prayed again, remembering that we have access to the throne room of God all the time and we aren’t limited to one singular prayer. After praying again, she was COMPLETELY HEALED. We then followed up by praising God and thanking him for the miracle. Throughout the night, we prayed over an array of topics. We prayed blessings over every person at training camp. Specifically for their sleep and dreams. (There is over 100 people all going on different trips). We laid hands on each of our squad members and prayed and prophesied for increased spiritual gifts from 1 Corinthians 12. We prayed for each country we would be doing ministry in and for each host family we would engage with. We trusted that God is a God of his word and held him to scripture. Isaiah 55:11 “so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
The next morning, running completely off of strength from the Holy Spirit (considering we hadn’t slept at all the night previously) we went to breakfast. At breakfast, I was chatting with one of the younger teams that will be on the World Race for 9 months. I asked if they had experienced any dreams in the night either from God or from the enemy. A girl raised her hand. I went over to her and she shared how she experienced dreams the night before where people were being killed and hurt. We knew they were demonic and from the enemy because the Bible says in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”. I laid hands on her head and began to pray, renouncing any schemes of the enemy, asking God to protect her mind during times of rest, and asking for him to speak to her in her dream life. I felt a word from the Lord for her that He was going to give her images and clues to ministry she would do in the future through her dreams. So I prayed over her about that. Then two days later, she came running to me in the morning with a wide grin on her face. She goes “I have got to tell you a story about what I dreamed last night!” She shared how she had not experienced a demonic dream since we prayed and that last night she had a dream from the Lord of her doing specific ministry with individuals from another country. So cool! God answered our prayers and we got to praise him together!
After I had prayed against demonic dreams for that girl, another sweet girl named Zoey came up to me and asked me to pray for her. She shared how she had been experiencing horrible dreams for years. The Lord was so kind to me and taught me how to minister to her. He prompted me to ask her if anything was underlying that she thought might be opening a door to the enemy coming into her dream life. She then shared how she has been struggling with anxiety for years. She explained that it was “consuming,” and that it had been such a long struggle that she doesn’t even remember the feeling of not being anxious. I prayed with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, breaking off all anxiety in Jesus’ name and asking him to fill her with the peace and freedom that God has already offered to her. As we prayed, I could feel the power of God on my words and on my hands ministering to her mind and the freedom that God desired for her. The next day, she came up to me and gave me the biggest hug. Saying that she had experienced NO ANXIETY since we prayed and that she hasn’t felt this way in years. THANK YOU JESUS!
It just keeps getting better. The night of the prayer watch, I asked my team to pray for an increase of my spiritual giftings. Specifically with words of knowledge being paired with healing. On the third day of training camp, we were corporately worshipping the Lord through music. As we were singing and praising God, I felt the Holy Spirit saying to place my hand on the girl’s foot that was next to me. Full transparency, I thought it was a little odd. But knew it was God’s voice and that there would be a blessing waiting in obedience. I laid my hand on her foot and then began to pray in the Spirit because I had no idea why God wanted me to touch her foot. After several minutes, she looks down at me and goes, “Are you praying healing? My ankle has been in constant pain for the last three years”. I was in shock. I began to pray specifically for her ankle to be healed. I felt an invitation to the Lord to just praise God believing that he had already healed it. Afterwards, she rolled it around and placed weight on it, saying that it was COMPLETELY HEALED.
God has built my faith deeply in the past seven days. He has done miracles. He has allowed me to be like Ananias in Acts 9 and partner with the healings he wants to do. I’m in awe of the God we serve. I feel so unworthy but yet he calls me his child. Thank you God for using your kids.
